Vidit Gujrathi is an Indian chess grandmaster from Nashik, now based in Mumbai. Winner of the FIDE Grand Swiss 2023 and a participant in the 2024 Candidates Tournament, he was part of India's historic 2024 Chess Olympiad gold-medal team in Budapest and captained India to Online Olympiad gold in 2020. Vidit Gujrathi is an Indian chess grandmaster from Nashik, Maharashtra. He earned the grandmaster title in 2013 at the age of eighteen, becoming India's 30th grandmaster, and took bronze at the World Junior Championship the same year.

In 2023 he won the FIDE Grand Swiss, one of the strongest open tournaments in chess, qualifying for the 2024 Candidates Tournament in Toronto — the eight-player event that decides the challenger for the World Championship. In 2024, he was part of India's historic Chess Olympiad gold-medal team in Budapest, Hungary. In 2020, he captained India to Online Olympiad gold.

Beyond the board, Vidit is deeply interested in artificial intelligence — building tools, experimenting with AI workflows, and documenting the transition from elite sport to building as @viditchess on YouTube, Instagram, and X.
