In 2023 he won the FIDE Grand Swiss, one of the strongest open tournaments in chess, qualifying for the 2024 Candidates Tournament in Toronto — the eight-player event that decides the challenger for the World Championship. In 2024, he was part of India's historic Chess Olympiad gold-medal team in Budapest, Hungary, and in 2026 he added Olympiad silver with Team India in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
