Vidit Chess Tour - Qualifier Results
Event 8 (February 28, 2021)
8 Individual events, 200 participants, 70+ rounds and finally we have our top 16 players who have qualified for the knockout stages of VIDIT CHESS TOUR. On Day 8, a total of 72 participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.
Top 2 players from each event will qualify to the Round of 16 from where the knockout stages start. On Day 3, GM Abhijeet Gupta was leading the scorecard with 7.5, followed by GM Diptayan Ghosh with a score of 7 and IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh with a score of 7.

Event 7 (February 27, 2021)
As we inch closer towards the business end of the tournament, the games are getting more competitive and intense. With 14 berths being already booked, it all goes down to the final qualifier to see who takes the last 2 spots. On Day 7, a total of 100 plus participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.
Top 2 players from each event will qualify to the Round of 16 from where the knockout stages start. On Day 3, IM Pranesh M was leading the scorecard with 7.5, followed by GM Vishnu Prasanna with a score of 7 and GM Shyam Sundar with a score of 7.

Event 6 (February 26, 2021)
VIDIT CHESS TOUR is an online open tournament for all players ie. rated, unrated and titled with no restriction on age limit. The aim of the tournament is to provide a unique platform for all the players to compete at the same level. It’s a dream for many of the budding chess players to play against the best and India’s top chess players which is surely being fulfilled through VC Tour. On Day 6, a total of 100 plus participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.

Event 5 (February 25, 2021)
VIDIT CHESS TOUR aims at giving experience to Indian chess (rated, unrated and titled) players of an elite and high-rated tournament. This will not only leverage the Indian chess community but also inspire budding chess players to take up the sport professionally. On Day 5, a total of 115 participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.

VIDIT CHESS TOUR is acting as a catalyst in leveraging the game of Chess in India by providing Indian players a platform to showcase their talent and be a part of the Indian Qualifiers at the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour 2021. On Day 4, a total of 104 participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.

It is amazing to see such a wonderful and overwhelming response to the inaugural edition of VIDIT CHESS TOUR. On Day 3, a total of 107 participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.

VIDIT CHESS TOUR is a unique opportunity for all Indian chess players to play competitive chess and get exposure to a high-rated event. On Day 2, a total of 98 participants registered including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.

Event 1 (February 21, 2021)
The long awaited VIDIT CHESS TOUR kicked off on Sunday with the first individual event. All the participants were very excited and ecstatic on being a part of such a high rated tournament which is exclusively for Indian chess players. 110 participants registered for Event 1 including titled, rated and unrated players from all parts of the country. The matches were played in presence of International Arbiter S Ganesh Babu.
