Vidit Gujrathi included in the line-up of Aimchess US Rapid – Meltwater Champions Chess Tour

India #2, GM Vidit Gujrathi has been added to the line-up of the next Meltwater Champions Chess Tour event, Aimchess US Rapid. The prize pool for the event is $100,000 and it is the 9th and last event on the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour before September’s Finals which will feature the top 8 players as per the tournament standings. The action kicks off on 28th August, Saturday at 20:30 IST, and runs non-stop until September 5th.
Vidit last played in the Goldmoney Asian Rapid, which ended on July 4, and finished ninth to narrowly miss a place in the quarterfinals. Currently, he is the only Indian participating in the event, and considering his World Cup performance, he would surely be riding high on confidence. This event also marks the return of World Champion – Magnus Carlsen along with other top-rated players like Alireza Firouzja and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and World Cup winner Jan-Krzysztof Duda.
