On the final day of the tournament, Indian women’s team walked into the hall with one hand on the gold medal and hopes of creating history. Whereas India B team in the open section missed on the Gold medal by losing penultimate round to Uzebekistan, the ultimate winners. Nevertheless, Indian teams scripted history by winning 2 bronze medals and many board medals. India A in the open section secured 4th position. This is considered as India’s best performance at the Olympiad till date and what makes it more special is that this amazing performance has come in the home soil.
