GM Vidit all set for Meltwater Champions Chess Tour – New in Chess Classic event
After having a successful run at the ECC’21 tournament and grabbing Gold Medal for second board, GM Vidit would be surely running high on confidence and would like to make the most of it in the next major tournament.
Play Magnus Group is serving up a feast of chess entertainment this month with the next event in the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, the New In Chess Classic. The event is scheduled from April 24 to May 2. Top 16 star players will feature in this event and a prize pot of $100,000 will also be at stake. GM Vidit will be joined by Indian chess prodigy GM Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa who has qualified to make the step up. He made it after winning the first event of the Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour, the Polgar Challenge. It is indeed a proud moment for the Indian chess community to have two of its best players battling against the elite players across the globe.
